SCHLINGEL met Olympia IFF

Several times a year SCHLINGEL representatives travel abroad to present selected German movies of past festival editions. The main objective of these international activities is the promotion of German children’s and youth film productions all over the world.
The Winners of the 22nd Film Festival SCHLINGEL Are Announced
With the festive awarding ceremony on Saturday night, the International Filmfestival for Children and Young Audience SCHLINGEL experienced its highlight. Over one week, eleven juries had to determine their favorite films. Altogether, 19 prizes worth 64,000 Euros were awarded to the winners. The festival screened a total of 159 films from 51 countries.
Award for Special Achievement
During the 22nd edition of the International Film Festival for Children and Young Audience SCHLINGEL the general secretary of ECFA, Felix Vanginderhuysen, received the festival's honorary award "Ehrenschlingel" for his efforts in the field of European Children's Film Culture.
The Winners of the Short Film Award
During the International Filmfestival for Children and Young Audience SCHLINGEL, the winners of the competition category short films were awarded within the short film programme “The Long Night of Short Films” (27 films from 16 countries). The ceremony took place at Kino Metropol Chemnitz.
Filmfestival SCHLINGEL starts on Monday in Chemnitz

International Fairytale Film Festival starts tomorrow | IFF SCHLINGEL is a partner of it
For the first time in Europe, the international fairytale film festival fabulix in Annaberg-Buchholz starting August 23rd until August 27th 2017, presents fairytale movies, readings and exciting workshops for all ages.
La Matatena 2017
For the 22nd time the children’s and youth’s Film Festival La Matatena took place in Mexico City. Besides the screening of 98 movies from 22 different countries, children and youths had the opportunity to attend workshop formats and activities from August 8th until August 13th 2017.
International Film Festival presents itself in South Korea and Taiwan
Currently SCHLINGEL head Michael Harbauer is enroute concerning children’s and youth films. In Busan, the second largest town in South Korea, he visits the international children’s and youth film festival BIKY, where he presents German short films of past SCHLINGEL-editions.
International Film Festival SCHLINGEL approved as Reference Film Festival
The national film funding institution FFA approved the International Film Festival for Children and Youth SCHLINGEL officially as reference film festival. Due to this, producers of German children’s and youths movies receive points for their participation in the competition of the Film Festival SCHLINGEL, with which they qualify for subsequent reference film funding.
SCHLINGEL presented children’s films in Hanoi
For the first time a German film festival has been organised by the Goethe-Institut Hanoi together with the International Film Festival for Children and Young Audience SCHLINGEL.
