Winners of the 19th SCHLINGEL announced

During the one-week festival, ten juries were spoilt for choice having to appointment their favourite films. All together, 13 prizes worth overall about 35,000 Euros were awarded. For the 19th edition of film festival SCHLINGEL 136 productions from 50 countries were screened.

Press Information about the Programme Press Conference

On October 13, the doors of the CineStar in the Galerie Roter Turm in Chemnitz will open for the 19th edition of the International Film Festival for Children and Young Audience SCHLINGEL. For one week, 132 films from 50 countries will be presented in various auditoriums of the CineStar.

IFF SCHLINGEL receives EU funding | About 900 films compete to be screened at the festival

In three months from now, the 19th edition of the International Film Festival SCHLINGEL will be held. In the weeks to come, a seven-member selection committee is going to make a final decision on the films to be screened during the festival week starting 13 October.

In Saint-Quentin | A travel report

From 10-17 April 2014 we, that is Josefin Riethausen (class 9/1), Lara Steinbrecher (class 9/3) and our teacher Karin Freund, visited a partner festival of SCHLINGEL, namely the International Film Festival «Ciné Jeune de l‘Aisne», which was held in the city of Saint-Quentin, located in the North of France.

SCHLINGEL members traveled to Tokyo

In mid-March the Premier of the Free State of Saxony, Stanislav Tillich, was visiting Japan and its cities Tokyo, Yonezava, Nagoya and Osaka. In addition, members of film festival SCHLINGEL traveled to Tokyo to arrange a cultural programme around the premier’s trip.

International Film Festival SCHLINGEL awards Germany’s largest monetary prize for a children’s film

In this year the Top Award of Chemnitz City and the MDR, which is awarded by the International Film Festival for Children and Young Audience SCHLINGEL is endowed with 11,000 euros, Germany’s largest monetary prize for a children’s film. This prize is awarded within the competition category International Children’s Film and is donated by the City of Chemnitz and the MDR.

In a photo competition within the International Film Festival SCHLINGEL pupils of the Karl-Schmidt-Rottluff-Gymnasiums have re-enacted famous film scenes and posters of Hoolywood films.
