The 14th SCHLINGEL shows exclusive and top-class movies: 118 productions from 39 countries - including numerous German and European premieres. On 5 October 2009 the International Film Festival for Children and Young Audience SCHLINGEL starts the 14th time by presenting the French-Canadian-coproduction titled “Magic” in Chemnitz.

The laureate of the year 2008, Uschi Reich, has been awarded in the context of the “New Faces Award” ceremony by the German magazine “Bunte”. In the category film, she was given a special award for the youth film trilogy “Wild Chicks”.

For the first time the International Film Festival for Children and Young Audience “SCHLINGEL“ is received funding from the MEDIA Programme of the European Union.
