GREETINGS FROM MARS
(German, Directed by: Sarah Winkenstette)
When their mother is sent to China as a foreign correspondent, the very special Tom (10) and his siblings Elmar (13) and Nina (15) end up with their grandparents in Lunau; a rural place high in the north that seems like a strange planet to the city kids. GRÜSSE VOM MARS is a funny and touching comedy about the big goals of an outsider whose otherness is at the same time his secret strength and who brings together two generations that at first face each other like beings from strange planets. First glimpses into this comedy will be presented by producer Anette Unger (Leitwolf Filmproduktion GmbH).

Alma (12) and her father, Filip, have relocated to a new apartment following the passing of Alma’s mother, a photojournalist and an environmental activist. WINNERS (WT)
(Germany, Directed by: Soleen Yusef)
Eleven-year-old MONA and the other six members of her family flee Syria and end up in Berlin. In Wedding, of all places. She is enrolled in a notorious public school in the district. Ninety percent of the students are the children of immigrants. Chaos is the order of the day in class. Most of the teachers are worn to a frazzle and the students’ frustration escalates by the day. Mona is no exception. She becomes part of the tumult. She barely speaks German. But she’s a whiz at football. She played a lot of street football with her brothers back home. MR. CHE (47), a dedicated teacher, recognizes her unusual talent and puts her on the girls football team. Mona finds her niche. In front of the net. In Berlin. In life. In the end, Mona saves the day for her team and they go down in the history of the Wedding school district as winners. Director Soleen Yusef and Wenka von Mikulicz (DCM Pictures) will present this project to the audience.
