More than 21.000 visitors are expected, of which almost 300 are national and international professionals. SCHLINGEL is an independent film festival with competitions in different categories and diverse fringe events. Operator is the Sächsische Kinder- und Jugendfilmdienst e.V. in Chemnitz. Co-organiser is the Sächsische Landesanstalt für privaten Rundfunk und neue Medien SLM. The Festival is under patronage of Saxony’s Prime Minister Stanislav Tillich.
