During the 22nd edition of the International Film Festival for Children and Young Audience SCHLINGEL the general secretary of ECFA, Felix Vanginderhuysen, received the festival's honorary award "Ehrenschlingel" for his efforts in the field of European Children's Film Culture.
Since 1978 he has been the managing director of Jekino-Films. The company received the Flemish Cultural Award for Film in 2007. Right from the start, Felix dealt with media education and offered films and workshops for young people. In 1988 he was one of the initiators of the European Children's Film Association ECFA. One year later he founded the European Youth Film Festival of Flanders in Antwerp.
Felix Vanginderhuysen comes from Belgium and studied Social Sciences at the University of Louvain.
