Streaming SCHLINGEL films via online platform of the Chemnitz City Library

Especially in times of cinema and library closings, online offers are extremely good alternatives. The Chemnitz City Library, for example, offers its users a comprehensive digital service. The streaming service FILMFRIEND is available for films.

From Good Friday onwards, this section contains film recommendations from the International Film Festival for Children and Young Audience SCHLINGEL. A total of ten films from past festival editions can be viewed, seven of them even being main prize winners in the competition categories for children's and youth film or audience winners.

Michael Harbauer, festival director of the SCHLINGEL, is delighted by the new possibilities: "We are very pleased that the project could be realised right in time before Easter. Thus, the entire family can enjoy first-class SCHLINGEL films over the holidays, away from the mainstream offers of other streaming platforms. Lean back and let yourself be enchanted by the many wonderful stories!"

Which SCHLINGEL film you liked and how much you enjoyed it can be announced immediately after watching it on the festival's own film critic website www.youci.info. A five-stage rating system via smileys as well as a comment function for each film allows immediate feedback.

The director of the Chemnitz City Library, Elke Beer, about the cooperation: "Filmfriend has been an extended digital offer of the Chemnitz City Library since 2018. With more than 2000 films, it offers a good curated mixture of quality and entertainment, such as feature films and series for adults and children as well as documentaries. Due to the successful cooperation of filmfriend with the International Film Festival SCHLINGEL, the streaming offer could be extended valuably. You are not yet a library customer but still want to watch the SCHLINGEL films via filmfriend? No problem, register for our digital offers for free on our website www.stadtbibliothek-chemnitz.de under the item OPAC until the end of the closing time".
