Chemnitz youths as jury members at Ciné Jeune
Once again this year, two young people from Chemnitz, students from the Dr.-Wilhelm-André-Gymnasium, were part of the International Youth Jury at the Ciné Jeune de l'Aisne. Together with other young people from Italy, France and Slovenia, they watched films for their age group, discussed them and finally selected a winning film.
As SCHLiNGEL, we also sent more than just students from Chemnitz to the French festival, which took place this year from 22 March to 19 April. Madeleine Schmidt from our team was also part of this year's ECFA jury for Ciné Jeune de l'Aisne together with Alicia McGivern from Ireland and Liviana Lunetto from France. They awarded the prize to the French-Moroccan short film ON MY FATHER'S GRAVE. The French-Belgian animated short film IMMOBILE STARS also received an honourable mention.
The Ciné Jeune de l'Aisne took place for the 42nd time this year. The festival traditionally shows films at various locations in the region, for example in Guise, Laon, Chauny, Soissons and Saint-Quentin. For this reason, the jury members also travelled to various locations and were able to gain an insight into the culture of the region.
