German title: Du kannst für immer leben
After her father dies, Jamie travels to the province of Québec to spend some time with her aunt Beth and her uncle Jean-François. The couple belong to the religious community of Jehovah’s Witnesses. At school, Jamie finds a friend in her classmate Nate whom she can confide in. Together they smoke pot and play video games. Jamie also reluctantly takes part in some of the congregationʼs events. After a church service, she meets Marike, who invites her to her familyʼs house. Marike misses her mother, who left the community many years ago. The reasons for this are hushed up by her father Frank and her older sister Amanda. Jamie quickly feels attracted to Marike, and Marike seems to reciprocate her feelings. Little by little, the young women become closer. They meet secretly and begin a love affair. However, Marike is torn between her deep faith and her feelings for Jamie. Moreover, her family expects her to marry her boyfriend Marc-Olivier. When Jean-François witnesses Jamie and Marike kissing, the situation comes to a head.
