Buckley's Chance
Original title: Buckley's Chance
German title: Buckley's Chance
From the urban jungle into the Australian wilderness: Ridley moves from New York to the outback with his mother after the tragic death of his father. His grandfather, grim Spencer, works and lives on the farm “Buckley’s Chance”. Instead of dealing with his grief, the 14-year-old now has to cope with a whole new life. On his very first day, he is put on a quad bike and rides into a ditch. Shortly afterwards, Ridley is asked to shoot a dingo with a rifle. These wild dogs are an ever-present danger in the Australian outback and threaten Spencer’s sheep. Ridley misses, and he even helps an animal get out of barbed wire fencing. His grandfather has no sympathy for this. When the villagers put pressure on the old man to sell his land, the situation escalates and Ridley is drawn into the conflict. An adventure begins in which the wild four-legged animal turns out to be man’s best friend.
