Swimming
Original title: Schwimmen
German title: Schwimmen
15-year-old Elisa suffers greatly from the separation of her parents. She now has to move to a council flat in Berlin-Neukölln with her mother. The young people at her new school behave quite differently from those living in the tranquil neighbourhood on the outskirts of the city. Elisa reacts to her stress and loneliness with fainting spells and is soon declared a victim by the boys in her class. They take advantage of one of Elisa’s fits to shoot a compromising video. Fortunately, her classmate Anthea arrives on the scene and saves the new kid in class. Anthea is the exact opposite of Elisa: beautiful, self-confident and fearless. She also sets the tone as the two become friends and hang out together every day. Together with Anthea’s older brother, they go out clubbing in Berlin and play a game: everything they do together has to be filmed on a mobile phone. Later, they secretly record their classmates who used to bully Elisa and share the videos. Soon the filming of humiliation videos develops into a compulsion that becomes highly dangerous for the girls and for all those who get in their way.
