Additional Information

Instead of serving his sentence in a prison, teenager Daniel is sent to Greece to take part in a project for juvenile criminals. On an ostrich farm in a remote village in Evros near the Turkish border Daniel is to learn to obey rules and take responsibility for the community. In this project, “the community” just includes the leader, an instructor and about 14-year-old Max, who is longing for closeness and sees Daniel as his friend. But Daniel is a loner who hardly talks and does not follow any rules. He suffers most from being separated from his dog Shindy, especially when he learns that his mother wants to give her away. One day, when he encounters a stray dog, he follows it and discovers a Syrian refugee with his little son in a dilapidated stone hut. They want to go to Germany and Daniel hopes that he will be allowed to join them. But then events move ahead with breakneck speed and Daniel has to take responsibility for a human being for the first time in his life.
