Rodrigo is the perfect candidate for hero. His descent allows him to be friend with the son of the king. But soon they are separated, because both have their eyes on the beautiful Gimena. When the king dies, the days of staying of Rodrigo at the court are counted. He gets into a fatal plot and has to escape. One day he will return as "El Cid".
