Bigman
Original title: Strijder
German title: Bigman
Dylan and Youssef are close friends and dream of a career as footballers. They both play in a team coached by Dylanʼs father. But then, just before the Touzani Cup, the unthinkable happens that turns everything upside down. A moment of inattention is enough for Dylan to be hit by a car. In hospital, it turns out that he is paraplegic and probably not able to walk and thus play football again. Dylan, who – like Messi, Maradona and Ziyech – has always played in the famous number 10 jersey, cannot accept to say goodbye to his dream. He trains hard in physiotherapy and even tries his hand at goalkeeping in a wheelchair, but it is all in vain. He reacts dismissively to his father’s offers to talk to him, and jealously to Youssef. When Youssef is supposed to be number 10 in the Touzani Cup, their friendship is on the rocks. But then Dylan’s classmate Maya, an enthusiastic skater, takes care of him and together, they develop a very special kind of kicking.
