How disgusting! South of Leipzig is one of the largest stinky factories in the GDR. In Espenhain, brown coal is processed, polluting the air with huge amounts of dirt and stench. Anna and Julian meet Hartmut, who loves playing football as a child but can hardly breathe. Hartmut and his friends are fed up with the dirt and start campaigns for a clean environment – much to the annoyance of the Stasi.
