Fränk
Since Paul’s parents often argue and his father is violent, his mother takes him to live with his uncle in a small town for a while. There he soon befriends a group of boys led by Jasper. They drink, fight and bully a disabled man whom they call „Fränk“ – for Frankenstein – because of his appearance. To prove himself to the group, Paul becomes increasingly provocative, putting many people in danger. While he humiliates Fränk in front of Jasper’s group, a friendship develops between the two. When Jasper discovers this one evening, Paul’s place in the gang is threatened and he reveals that Jasper has been secretly writing love letters to the cashier, who is many years older than him. The situation escalates and in the end, Paul’s friendship with Fränk helps him turn the tide and take a stand against violence in the small town. However, violence within his own family is another matter ...
