The Fairy Tale of Swan Lake
Prince Friedrich sullenly looks at the stack of photographs his mother has placed on the table. He is supposed to start thinking about marriage and select promising candidates for a ball. Fortunately, his friends pick him up for an outing, and the three of them ride into the enchanted forest, which is forbidden. They spend the night at Swan Lake. When the sun has set, Friedrich watches a beautiful swan transform into a girl. Her name is Odette, and she tells him that her stepfather, sorcerer Rothbart, has placed a curse on her. Only true love can break it. Odette has already resigned herself to her fate in this secluded place. But the prince wants to help her and, reckless as he is, he kneels before Odette and swears his eternal love to her. Of course, the girl cannot take this vow seriously, and at sunrise she flies away again as a swan. But Friedrich cannot forget Odette and offers her an invitation to the ball. However, this is discovered by Rothbart, who pursues a very evil plan.
