Karla
Bavaria, 1962: During an Easter outing with her family, twelve-year-old Karla runs away and demands to see a judge at a police station. She does not give a reason, but she also refuses to be talked out of it. When judge Dr Friedrich Lamy is summoned, she files a complaint against her father under Section 176 for „indecent acts“. Karla has read about the subject in the library and finally wants to defend herself. Judge Lamy is sceptical at first, but he feels that the girl needs his help. However, there is a big problem: Karla is unable to describe the incidents in detail. The burden of reliving the acts is too heavy for her. She also refuses to undergo a gynaecological examination. Judge Lamy patiently listens to the girl and tries to make the questioning easier for her with the help of a tuning fork. Karla strikes it so she doesnʼt have to say the „monstrous“ words. Ultimately, however, Judge Lamy has no evidence, no witnesses and therefore little chance in court. Nevertheless, he is determined to fight for the rights of this courageous girl.
