Honey
Thirteen-year-old Honey lives in difficult circumstances. Her mother works two jobs, her father is unemployed and unreliable. As a result, she bears a large part of the family responsibility, especially because of her older sister, who has Down syndrome. Honey hides her stressful life situation at school. Her true passion is music, and when she is accepted into the school band “Rock Till We Drop”, she finds new hope. But a school project on family trees brings a surprising discovery to light: contrary to previous assumptions, her grandfather, a former musician, is still alive and seriously ill. As a close relationship develops between the two, Honey finds someone for the first time, who listens to her, encourages her talent and empowers her to think about herself for once. This helps the girl begin to find her own way and realise that it is important to be there for others, but also not to forget herself in the process.
