Emma visits her grandparents at their summer house by the sea, together with her best friend Casper and the stuffed animals Miss Rabbit and Lion Cub. On the very first day the children go to the beach and make an exciting discovery. While building sand castles they dig up an old tin box with the initials A and J, which once belonged to grandfather Jørgen and his friend Alfred. As children, the two of them spent their holidays together on the island, but unfortunately, they lost sight of each other afterwards. Now Emma and Casper find their memorabilia in the box: a tromp, a coin, some shells and a mysterious message leading to a treasure. Of course, the children have to solve this mystery! Miss Rabbit and Lion Cub help them. The treasure hunt leads the four to the lighthouse, an ice-cream parlour, a rock by the sea and a boathouse. Again and again Emma and Casper discover new signs that show them the way to the treasure. The children and their stuffed animals get into dangerous situations, which they can only master together and with a lot of courage.
