Members of SCHLINGEL travelled abroad to represent the Film Festival
On invitation of the Goethe-Institut in the Philippines, two members of the International Film Festival SCHLINGEL attended a Children’s Cinema Seminar at the SM City Manila.
Marion Schöffler (Festival Assistant) and Christin Franz (Press Manager) have been invited to work with Philippine writers, filmmakers and producers in order to produce quality educational children’s films and to create a children’s film festival in the Philippines. Beside this, the experts spoke about their experiences in organizing an international festival.
The seminar was presented by the Goethe-Institut in the Philippines together with SM Cinemas and Nick Deocampo, a Philippine filmmaker, writer and lecturer. It was hold in view of initializing the first Philippine Children’s Film Festival in November 2011. For this the SCHLINGEL team will continue its exchange of information.
In the meantime the festival mascot Jasper Frech stayed in Zlin (Czech Republic) where he was a member of the International Children’s Jury. Together with the other jury members he has seen eight productions. At the end they elected the winner of this category. The 12 years old boy was happy about his trip and the possibility of working as a jury member in Zlin. In October he will be back on the local cinema stage again acting as a festival mascot.
