International Film Festival SCHLINGEL offers barrier-free screenings: technical solutions by Kinoton Digital Solutions GmbH
The preparations for the 23rd International Film Festival for Children and Young Audience SCHLINGEL are in full progress. At the beginning of October, it will show more than 150 short and long feature and animation films from all over the world in Chemnitz. For the first time, also people with sensory disabilities will be able to enjoy films.
Kinoton Digital Solutions GmbH, based in Germering near Munich, provided the technical solutions. The installation is now completed and the cinema is equipped with closed captioning & assistive listening systems - supported by the Free State of Saxony.
Festival director Michael Harbauer: “It is important that especially children and young people with and without disabilities can experience culture together, in order to train a coexistence in natural diversity at an early stage of development."
The 23rd International Film Festival SCHLINGEL will take place from 1 to 7 October at the CineStar in the Galerie Roter Turm in Chemnitz and will reach around 24,000 film fans from Chemnitz and the surrounding area, professional visitors, international guests, actors, filmmakers and producers.
