Prince Sky Blue and the Fairy Lupina
Original title: Prinz Himmelblau und Fee Lupine
German title: Prinz Himmelblau und Fee Lupine
Beautiful, high-born and above all a good catch – this is how the queen imagines her son’s future wife. But Prince Himmelblau has a mind of his own and wants to choose his bride himself. He therefore goes out into the world with his squire Fred. In a meadow on the edge of the kingdom, he meets charming, but shy fairy Lupine, who is picking flowers with her sister Elli and her pony Alfonse for the fairies’ summer festival. It is love at first sight, so the prince invites Lupine to have a jam sandwich with him in the evening. But this romantic meeting is not going to happen because the queen has watched them through her magic telescope, and now she is furious. In her distress she releases witch Confidante, who once wanted to seize the throne herself, from prison and instructs her to separate the two lovers. Since Confidante wants to marry the prince herself, she puts a terrible curse on the couple: Alternately, one of them is beautiful but evil, while the other is good-natured, but frightfully ugly, so the young love cannot grow.
