Meteor Street
Original title: Meteorstraße
German title: Meteorstraße
The area around Meteor Street in Berlin, right at Tegel Airport, is Mohammed’s new home. Together with his parents and much older brother Lakhdar he fled from the war in Lebanon. Since his parents were deported, the 18-year-old has been completely on his own. He longingly watches the planes leaving Tegel every few minutes, and he just as longingly looks at the old family photos in the abandoned parents’ bedroom. He tries to win the support of his firm but fair boss Achim, who employs him illegally in his dilapidated motorcycle workshop, and of his unpredictable, eccentric brother. Although their father has forbidden him to deal with Lakhdar, Mohammed lets him move back into the apartment. But Lakhdar has long lost the ground under his feet and does not help his younger brother. On the contrary! Mohammed gets more and more influenced by his instability until Lakhdar instigates him to rob Achim’s motorcycle workshop, thereby marginalizing him completely.
