Original title: Dancing Arabs
German title: Mein Herz tanzt
Israel, in the late 1980’s: politically active Palestinian Salah, who is fighting for the independence of his people, proudly sends his son Eyad to an elite school in Jerusalem. There Eyad is the first and so far the only Palestinian student and therefore seeks to adapt to his Jewish classmates. Solely with seriously ill Israeli Yonatan, who Eyad looks after, Palestinian-Israeli reservations do not matter. The two outsiders become friends and Yonatan increasingly talks about the fact that they are very similar – both in character and in appearance. When Naomi's parents find out about their relationship and therefore forbid their daughter to go to school, events start happening very fast. Eyad leaves school and starts working. But he can only make money if he adopts Yonatan’s identity ...
