Tony Wagemans is almost ten years old and lives with his parents in an old house surrounded by cranes. His father Gilles is a popular crane operator, who rightly claims that a crane is his third arm. He is also head of the firm Wagemans & Co. and newly appointed Minister of Transportation. But due to this position, he has little time for his family. The parents have arguments more and more often, until Gilles does not come home any more. By chance, Tony learns that his father has fallen in love with Wanda, his conceited assistant. Tony can not believe that she should be any better than his mother Sissy, and takes action: He secretly sneaks into the residence of the Dutch Queen, his father’s boss. With her help, he hopes to bring his parents back together with her help – even before his tenth birthday! The Queen will hold a grand ball, and Tony's mother is also invited. But it is not so easy to light the fire between Gilles and Sissy again...
