German title: Nachtwald
Paul's father, Dr Thomas Haller, is an explorer, dreamer, and encourager. “You can achieve anything you want because you’re actually a star too,” he once assures his son on a beautiful evening. But Thomas is also a psycho, a freak. At least that’s what everyone believes in their small town in the Swabian Alb. In fact, sometimes he is extremely sad, then again overjoyed and sometimes totally absent-minded. So one day, wearing his bathrobe, he drops into a meeting at the town hall and wants to inform the town council of his discovery. Thomas has deciphered a mysterious old local legend and found out that the largest undiscovered cave of Germany is located in the middle of Ursuline Mountain. But the councillors do not take the somewhat confused man seriously. He disappears shortly afterwards. After a year, no one believes in his return. Even Paul’s mother thinks that Thomas has taken his own life. But Paul does not want to accept this. Together with his best friend Max, he sets out to find his father and thus the Ursuline Cave.
