Into the Beat

Katya Orlow comes from a famous ballet family. She has every chance of following in the footsteps of her late mother and that of her father Victor, who is still celebrated as a master dancer. At the moment she is training very hard to apply to the prestigious New York Ballet Academy. Then an accident happens: Victor gets badly injured on stage and he thus has to end his career. Back from hospital, Katya is his only hope of carrying on the family tradition. This is why he fully concentrates on his daughter’s audition. But in the meantime, Katya has met a group of street dancers, and she is magically attracted by their wild, acrobatic moves. After a training session she becomes a permanent guest in “Battleland” and leads a double life: rehearsing the leading part for the “Sleeping Beauty” ballet in the morning and dancing with gifted hip-hop dancer Marlon in the afternoon. When Marlon wants them to audition as a duo for the famous “Sonic Tigers”, Katya gets into a serious conflict.
