Daniela Adomat worked for twenty years in various positions of the German television industry and was jointly responsible for formats such as “tagesschau“, “MDR Aktuell“, and “Brisant“ as a reporter, planner and editorial manager. Today, she is head of Licensing, Film and Series departments at MDR Fernsehen as well as the contact for all kinds of questions about short films.
Katrin Kleeberg
Leipzig | Germany
Katrin Kleeberg studied journalism at the Leipzig School of Journalism. She then worked, among other positions, in corporate communications and at the ddp news agency in the Dresden regional office as a correspondent and Chief on Duty. Since 1998, she has been working as a freelance journalist, book author and public relations consultant. Since July 2023, she is vice president of the SLM (Saxon State Authority for Private Broadcasting and New Media).
Corinna Schier
Erfurt | Germany
Corinna Schier has studied Communication and Media Sciences, German Philology and Business Studies at Leipzig University and at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in Spain. After having worked as a research assistant for Leipzig University, since 2008 she is an editor at the children’s channel KIKA within the department of fiction works, where she, among other things, supervises formats of various genres and target groups in the real and animation sector.
Cosima Stracke-Nawka
Bautzen/Budyšin | Germany
The drama expert Cosima Stracke-Nawka was dramaturge and director at the Deutsch-Sorbisches Volkstheater (German-Sorbian Popular Theatre) until 1991. Between 1992 and June 2020, she was a consultant for youth media protection and film funding at the Saxon State Agency of Private Broadcasting and New Media (SLM). She is a member of the allocation committee of the MDM. Since 2015, she has been spokesperson of the Sorbian-German Filmmaker’s Network Łužycafilm.
Felix Vanginderhuysen
Brussels | Belgium
Felix Vanginderhuysen graduated with a Masterʼs degree in Social Sciences from the University of Louvain, Belgium. He was the managing director of Jekino-Films. In 1988, he founded the European Childrenʼs Film Association (ECFA) and has served as its Secretary General ever since. In 1989, he founded the European Youth Film Festival Flanders in Antwerp.

Katharina Andraschke
Ljubljana | Slovenia
Katharina Andraschke has worked as a freelance translator in Ljubljana for 25 years and teaches German as a foreign language. As a long-time supervisor of the Slovenian side of the European Childrenʼs Jury, she is a regular part of the SCHLiNGEL festival. She was active for many years on the board of the Association for the Promotion of the German Mother Tongue, which is responsible for organising German courses as well as cultural and media projects with a German connection.
Etelka Kobuß
Chemnitz | Germany
Etelka Kobuß is a certified primary-school pedagogue (college) and a certified social pedagogue (university). Since 2009, the Hungarian by birth is Chemnitz’ commissioner for migration. One of her responsibilities is the organisation of both the annual intercultural weeks as well as the intercultural film week. She is member of the Day of Peace committee and of the jury of Chemnitz’ Peace-Award.
Thom Palmen
Riga | Latvia
Thom Palmen studied Cultural Management, Art of History and Sociology at Umeå University in Sweden. In 1986, he co-founded the Umeå International Film Festival and was its Artistic Director from 1986 to 2007. He currently works as a curator for various film festivals and as a producer. He also develops cinema projects and initiated the 72-Hour Short Film Competition, among others. He supports the training of young filmmakers in various initiatives, e.g. the Tampere BootCamp.
Isabel Peglau
Alexandria | Egypt
Isabel Peglau studied Spanish Literature and Cultural Studies as well as Islamic Studies at the University of Freiburg and German as a Foreign Language at the University of Leipzig and in Cairo. She has worked as a German teacher in various countries and contexts and has been working as a programme coordinator at the Goethe-Institut Alexandria in Egypt since 2021, where she organizes the annual film week, among other things.
Annegret Scheibe-Knopf
München | Germany
Annegret Scheibe-Knopf studied Theatre Studies, Education and Art History. She has been working in the cultural department of the Goethe-Institut since 2008. After working in the areas of music and visual arts, she moved to the film, television and radio department in 2020. Here she oversees the screening process for the selection of films for the programme work of the institutes abroad, is responsible for the support of the regional film archives and the introduction of digital distribution.

Vanessa Kuhfs
Leipzig, Germany
Vanessa Kuhfs completed a Media Design degree in Ravensburg and is currently studying Design Studies at the Burg Giebichenstein Academy of Art. Since then, she has been working at the interface between theory and practice in the media and film world as a production manager and producer for animated films and VFX, designer as well as a lecturer and trainer. She is a member of the AG Animationsfilm as well of the Filmverband Sachsen.
Jürgen Pinkert
Lugau | Germany
Jürgen Pinkert worked as an art teacher, consultant and lecturer at the Chemnitz Teacher Training Centre until 2022. As chairman of the art teachersʼ association BDK Saxony, he coordinated the work at regional level from 2003 to 2011. His art education work has always focussed on diverse artistic experiences and the development of age-specific visual skills. From 2012 to 2021, he was in charge of the SCHLiNGEL junior and youth jury, consisting of pupils from the Karl-Schmidt-Rottluff-Gymnasium.
Franka Sachse
Weimar | Germany
Franka Sachse is a freelance animation artist and lecturer in the field of moving images. She writes scripts, directs, animates and develops the visual concepts for her films. Her work currently includes eight animated short films and the collaboration on a long experimental documentary film. She is also involved in the Weimar Animation Club and on the board of the AG Animationsfilm for young talent. In the dark, she performs her moving images live as VJ Loov together with various sound artists, musicians and DJs.
Ines Wolter
Chemnitz | Germany
Ines Wolter has been working also at the Chemnitzer Filmwerkstatt for 20 years and has contributed to making it to one of the most important establishments when it comes to media pedagogical institutions in Saxony. The Filmwerkstatt could realize many short film productions and received the German short film awards with Olaf Held in 2013.

Marc Hairapetian

Marc Hairapetian founded "Spirit – Ein Lächeln im Sturm – Das Magazin für Film, Theater, Musik, Literatur und Hörspiel“ at the age of 16. Since 2021, he has also been running the YouTube interview channel "The Spirit Meets“. He also writes for "Frankfurter Rundschau" and "Berliner Zeitung", among others. The co-author of "Oskar Werner – Das Filmbuch" (Vienna, 2002) was named "Germanyʼ best film journalist“ by BILD. He also works as an actor for TV and cinema. His constant companion is his Siberian wolfdog husky mix Felix.
Jose Solís
Madrid | Spain
Jose Solís is a Honduran cultural critic based in Madrid. He is an active writer for numerous newspapers, including the New York Times. In 2020, he founded the BIPOC Critics Lab, which is designed to train and create work for emerging Black, Indigenous and People of Colour theatre journalists. He has been the director of the programme ever since. Furthermore he is the creator and host of the web series/podcast Token Theatre Friends, where he engages in conversation with theatre artists.

Ph.D. Ladislav Volko is a film publicist, sociologist and poet. Furthermore he works as an university teacher. Previously, he was a diplomat. As an author he published many books and articles in field of cinema, sociology, culture, literature and media. His publications include "Problems of the Film Critic" from 1979 and "Sociological Aspect of Media Culture" from 2015.

Katja Morand has a Masterʼs degree in Film Studies and German Linguistics and Literature. She works as a programme designer for cinemas and film festivals and currently in film management and as an operator and curator at Stadtkino Basel. She is also the Artistic Director of chinoworb (cinema in Worb), part of the programme team of the Luststreifen Film Festival Basel, programme director of the International Festival for Animated Film Baden - Fantoche and a board member of Balimage, the association for Basel film and media art.
Prof. em. Dr. phil. habil. Rüdiger Steinmetz

Prof. em. Dr. phil. habil. Rüdiger Steinmetz studied German Studies, Communication Studies as well as Political Science at the University Göttingen, the LMU Muinch and the University Marburg. From 1992 to 2018, he was chairholder of Media Science and Media Culture at the institute of Communication at the University of Leipzig, now Emeritus. He researches and publishes in the field of film, including on the subject of “Local Television in the Transformation Period 1990-95”.

Monica Wahi is a children’s film specialist who has been working as a curator, acquisition consultant and creative producer for young audiences since 20 years. She has previously served as Creative Head of Children’s Film Society India, Going to School and Lennep Media. She was as programmer and organizer part of many international children’s film festivals and sections, like the Smile International Film Festival for Children and Youth and the Bulbul Childrenʼs International Film Festival. She was also the exclusive programmer for a World Cinema channel for young audiences broadcasted by Tata Sky.

Calliope Charalambous Krief
Athens | Greece
Calliope Charalambous Krief founded the Athens International Childrenʼs Film Festival in 2018 and has been its festival director ever since. She also works as a producer for theatre and television, and has additionally worked as a director in these fields, being involved in the production of TV shows, music and corporate events. She holds a Bachelorʼs degree in Humanities from the University of Athens and a Masterʼs degree in Theatre Direction from the RADA and Kingʼs College, University of London.
Dr Madhu Chopra

Dr Madhu Chopra has worked as a producer on numerous regional films, for example in Marathi and Punjabi. She is also part of the production company Purple Pebble Pictures, where she is responsible for business, among other things. She has always had a special fondness for childrenʼs films in her work. She is also a trained ENT specialist, having spent a large part of her career working in the armed forces. She later specialised in cosmetic surgery.
Volodymyr Diagilev
Kharkiv | Ukraine
Volodymyr Diagilev was the executive director of the DYTIATKO International Children’s Media Festival in Kharkiv until 2022. He is a member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine and Head of the Kharkiv Association of Children’ Screen Arts “Dytiatko”. Volodymyr Diagilev is also the founder of the educational project “Children of Miss Peregrine”.

As a volunteer at the Festival of Christian Film in Montpellier (Festival chrétien du cinéma), Mathieu Cunnac was able to deepen his strong interest in film and expand his wealth of experience in this field. He is currently studying for a Bachelor's degree in Film and Theatre at the University of Metz in France. In 2023, he completed a voluntary service in a cultural centre in Koblenz.

Dr. rer. pol. Stefan Hassels studied Economics in Bonn and was received the doctorate in Hamburg. Since 2021, he has been the managing director of Matthias-Film gemeinnützige GmbH, which has the mission of promoting filmst that give young people in particular a positive perspective on life. Previously, he held various management positions in the media sector, including for the Rheinischer Merkur media group and the Gemeinschaftswerk der Evangelischen Publizistik (GEP). He was also in charge of the film magazines Filmdienst and epd Film.
Beáta Kézdi
Pomáz | Hungary
Beáta Kézdi studied Communication, Hungarian Literature and Pedagogy at the Pázmány Péter Catholic University from 2001 to 2009. Since 2015, she has been working as a journalist for the Evangelical-Lutheran Church in Hungary, since 2020 as an editor in chief of their website and their magazine. Previously, she held various positions in the media industry, worked as a radio reporter and editor, project manager in a Development Education Programme of the Hungarian Interchurch Aid and as a theatre critic.

Michelle Isabel Stark studied educational sciences among other places in Madrid and Palermo. She has extensive knowledge of the national and international educational landscape through her work at schools, in regional and supra-regional teacher training, as well as in the Pasch Initiative of Germany’s Federal Foreign Office at the Goethe Institute in Buenos Aires. She has been working as an editor at the Institute for Film and Image in Science and Education (FWU) near Munich, where she is responsible for film productions in the field of Religion and Ethics.
