The Boy with Pink Pants
Andrea is a clever, sensitive, cheerful teenager who loves to sing and run fast. When he is confronted with his parents’ divorce, his childhood falls apart. The arguments at home seem never-ending; and at school, Christian has it in for the quiet top student. The boy’s pink trousers are just one of the reasons for Christian’s bullying. One minute he is Andrea’s friend, and the next minute he is his enemy. He exploits Andrea’s enthusiasm and deepest secrets to empower himself. As Christian feels neglected too, he surrounds himself with boys who want to please him. Andrea sometimes feels a sense of connection and fun in their group, just to be exposed to public ridicule again soon afterwards. Only his girlfriend Sara stands by him. And his mother, although she is unaware of how much Andrea is suffering. After changing schools, Andrea finally enjoys the freedom he has longed for and literally starts to flourish without Christian. But when the latter moves to his school, the spiral starts all over again. Humiliation takes its toll on Andrea until he decides he can’t go on like this.
