A Summer in Summerby
The holiday trip to Italy with plenty of pizza and ice cream is cancelled because Martha, Mikkel and Mats’ mother has an accident far away in New York. Naturally, their father has to fly there, while the three siblings are taken to their grandmother’s house in Schleswig-Holstein, whom they do not really know. Grandma Inge lives alone in a thatched house, quite lonely and idyllic on a headland on the Schlei, where there is no telephone connection and not even a mobile phone network. So Martha, Mikkel, Mats and their father cannot call in advance and are greeted with a loaded shotgun. As if that weren’t enough, Grandma Inge sends her grandchildren, with whom she has had no contact for years, to sleep in the attic. No wonder they want to go home as soon as possible! But gradually, grandmother and grandchildren grow closer, especially as a real estate agent keeps showing up and strange things start happening. He offers two million euros for the house and land. But Grandma Inge doesn’t want to lose her home. Now the four of them must stick together to get rid of this intrusive man.
