The Uniform
Taiwan in the late 1990s: There are two strictly separate worlds at the prestigious First Girls High School. While the day students are considered elite and wear a yellow sun badge, the white moon badge worn by the evening students marks their belonging to the „second class“. Ai, who is sent to evening school by her mother after the death of her father and a failed entrance exam, feels increasingly pressured by her surroundings. However, when she meets Min, a confident elite student from the day school, everything changes. The two share the same seat at school. When they meet during the transition from day to evening, they exchange messages. This leads to an unusual friendship developing between the two. When Min suggests swapping school uniforms and crossing boundaries together, Ai’s world is turned upside down. Things become even more complicated when Min’s boyfriend Luke enters Ai’s life. The class barriers in this starkly divided society become all too clear to Ai in her struggle for self-esteem.
