Oddball
Original title: Oddball
German title: Oddball – Retter der Pinguine
Allan “Swampy” Marsh, owner of a chicken farm, lives with his white Maremma sheepdog Oddball in the region of Warrnambool at the Australian coast. There is a reserve for the endangered little penguins directed by Swampy's daughter Emily. For some time, however, foxes have been killing penguins, so the reserve is to be closed. As a result, Emily would become unemployed and maybe even have to leave the region with her daughter Olivia, Swampy’s beloved grandchild. When Swampy takes an injured penguin to his home one day, he notices Oddball watching faithfully over the animal. So he has the idea of training his dog to tend the little birds and of leaving him in the reserve at night to protect the penguins. If he succeeds, Emily's project will be saved! And indeed, Swampy can rely on Oddball, but now he is faced with quite different problems: Emily is planning to move to New York with her new boyfriend, Oddball is locked up by a dog catcher, and a dangerous opponent of the reserve starts making trouble.
