A winter in the 18th century is especially freezing again and the residents of a small Icelandic village believe that they are cursed. As a young Inuit boy appears on the island, floating on an ice flow, the people just feel strengthened in their belief. Because of fear, they lock the stranger up. Just the son and the daughter of the preacher care about the boy’s destiny, release him and flee with him in the coldness. The disappearance of the children causes a lot of riot in the village.
