Doubles Match

Hu Guan-yu loves table tennis. It reminds him of his late mother, who gave him a table tennis ball before she died, which he always carries around with him. Together with his best friend Huang Xuan, he trains towards his big goal: to take part in the Olympic Games. But there is something else at stake for his friend Huang Xuan. After his parents split up, his mother wants him to change school districts. But he doesn’t want to give up his friends and has to win the next big game to be able to stay. However, a new coach turns the team upside down and the training routines change. Not everyone can cope with this and the two boys grow further and further apart and their friendship seems to be slowly collapsing. Hu Guan-Yu finds a lot of support from his family and the new coach during this time. A year later, the most important match is coming up for the young athlete: qualifying for the junior national table tennis team. But his opponent is no stranger...
