Pil-Sun and Mi-Na donʼt just dance hip-hop out of passion – they are very good at it too. Shortly before the turn of the millennium, they regularly enthral the young people in their South Korean home village of Geoje. When Se-Hyeon, who has just moved from the capital Seoul to the small village on a remote island, shows off her dancing skills, the girls are certain: ‘We have to form a cheerleading club! That‘s the only way the football team at Geoje Commercial High School, which is considered the worst of the league, can finally win. Or at least their cheerleaders can. The three girls organise a casting for their ‘Millennium Girls’, persuade the school to give them a dance room for training and have a lot of fun practising their choreographies. But can their enthusiasm and skills help fulfil the school managementʼs requirements? They expect the ‘Millennium Girls’ to cheer the boys on so well that the miserable football team can eventually become winners.
