Rapunzel and the Return of the Falcons
Original title: Rapunzel und die Rückkehr der Falken
German title: Rapunzel und die Rückkehr der Falken
Abandoned as a baby, Rapunzel grows up happily and contentedly with sorceress Eleonor. Living in harmony with nature in the deep forest, the child sees the world as a large, colourful playground full of magic and harmony. But one day, the magician is summoned to Queen Freya’s court. She is to witness Prince Sigismundʼs ritual of succession to the throne and perhaps use her magical powers to help with the celebrations. Sigismund is more of a dreamer and explorer than a tower-climbing hero. When Eleonor sets off in her most beautiful cloak, inquisitive Rapunzel secretly follows her. At court, she meets Sigismund and the two hit it off straight away. Sigismund promises to visit her in the forest, but then everything turns out differently. Eleonor refuses to grant the queen her magical help, which includes eternal fidelity. So the two of them have to flee – to a place that no one can find. For many years, Rapunzel and her foster mother have been living hidden away in a tower without a door. Rapunzel has grown into a young woman, and she still thinks of Sigismund. And the prince cannot forget Rapunzel either.
