It doesnʼt work any more: the youth welfare authorities in Moscow take custody away from her confused and overwhelmed mother and send Nastya to a childrenʼs home. The quiet girl is not thrilled with her new home and flees at the first opportunity. But someone else has already moved into her former home and there is no trace of her mother. Back at the children‘s home, she slowly makes contact with the other children and young people. Alongside the other children, many of whom are disabled, Lex, who is blind, is surprisingly wise for his age. He and the warm-hearted headmistress in particular help her to find an emotional home in the home. But the harmony they find does not last long. A cunning businessman is planning to build a large commercial complex, and as he canʼt find a suitable plot of land in the city centre, he uses his connections in the city council. The building of the childrenʼs home where Nastya lives with her friends is to be demolished for his project. However, the residents are not at all in favour of this and fight against the corrupt plans. Can they successfully defend their home?
