Home by the River

Shi Niuniu is considered a troublemaker in his class. He often comes late to school, doesn’t do his homework on time, and is a loner. With his stubborn nature and his passion for mud figurines, the boy often clashes with his ambitious classmate Yan Ying and the strict principal, Miss Jiao. Likewise, the shy girl Mao Ye doesn’t really fit into the class. So while Shi Niuniu and Mao Ye have to spend most of the lessons together on the penalty bench, the two become friends. One day the principal’s sister, Miss Fen, comes to the school. She is a psychology student and wants to work with children as part of her master’s thesis. Miss Fen discovers the hidden talents of the two “troublemakers” and manages to motivate them with her trust and positive reinforcement.
