Håkan is a lively, curious boy who wants a pet more than everything else. His two best friends Isa and Beiron already have an animal companion after all. But his parents are unsure whether he is ready to take responsibility for an animal. To prove exactly that, Håkan attends a scout camp for a week and tries to strictly adhere to the rules and avoid any kind of trouble during his stay there. However, this resolution begins to waver when a gang of thieves are up to mischief at the camp. In addition, a plan with the apparently mapped route of the islandʼs tunnel system lands right at Håkanʼs feet. As none of the scout leaders and accompanying parents believe him, he sets off on his own to pursue the criminals and uncover the secret of the treasure map. But the boy soon finds that such a mission is difficult to accomplish on his own. He realises that he can only succeed in hunting the thieves down together with his friends.
