Mr. Freeman

17-year-old Simone has been struggling with her self-image and physical ideal for a long time. After several failed Tinder dates, her self-confidence is at rock bottom. And she has a hard time at home too: her mother favours her little sister and her conflict-shy father doesnʼt support her either. Everything changes when she meets Mr Freeman on Instagram. The 22-year-old man from Ghana wins her heart with nice comments such as ‘Beautiful outfit!’ and ‘I like your style’. But flattering messages from strangers on the internet set alarm bells ringing in Simone’s environment, and she receives clear instructions from her mum: ‘You should0t’write to a man like that – block him!’ Her classmates also make derogatory comments about Simoneʼs crush. But the girl doesnʼt let this put her off, and when Mr Freeman announces that he wants to visit her in Denmark, Simone stands up to her familyʼs reservations.
