Kéria lives with her father on Borneo, where he works on a palm oil plantation. Her life takes a dramatic turn when a mother orangutan is killed and Kéria has to look after the orphaned baby orangutan named Oshi. Shortly afterwards, her previously unknown cousin Selai comes to visit, who is not at ease with life in the village. He decides to return to the rainforest. Oshi follows him, and Kéria has no choice but to follow them. She gets lost in the dense rainforest, but with Selaiʼs help they find the Penan, an indigenous people who live in harmony with nature. The Penan are desperately fighting against the destruction of their habitat by corrupt logging companies. Kéria thereby gets to know her own indigenous roots. In the Penan community, her family, she finally experiences a sense of security and belonging. Together, they do everything they can to save the rainforest from destruction. In this fight, Kéria’s true nature unfolds: fierce, determined and ready to stand up for what she loves.
