German title: When Fucking Spring Is in the Air
Itʼs winter in Gdynia, Poland. Not a good time on the Bay of Gdansk: Kasiaʼs home town is cold and grey. And worse is yet to come: When Kasia was three years old, her parents left Poland in the hope of a better life in Germany. They never returned, and Kasia grew up with her grandmother. Now this woman, who was the girlʼs only family for many years, has died. Kasia is deeply shaken. To make matters worse, she also appears to be pregnant. Penniless at the age of 17 and with no prospects, she has no choice but to set off to find out the truth about her birth parentsʼ emigration and their financial means. She embarks on the inevitable journey of growing up and discovers that her family is very different from what she expected. Not only do her parents live apart, they live in different places and have new families. Kasia, rebellious and clever, demands one thing above all else from them: money.
