Wow! Message from outer Space

Eleven-year-old Billie has just moved house with her father Alex. Her mother, a famous astronaut, died years ago on a space mission. At a nearby scrapyard, Billie meets Dino, a tinkerer of the same age, and immediately makes friends with him. He is also interested in everything to do with space and is currently building a radio telescope. The two children use it to receive really strange sound signals that can only come from aliens; but nobody actually believes in aliens. So Billie and Dino write to the ESA to have the sounds decoded. And indeed, the children are invited to Kourou spaceport in French Guiana. But even there, nobody believes them. They are disappointed as they wander around the site and discover a floating stone in a secret laboratory. Without thinking, they take it with them and call security to the scene. During their escape, they accidentally end up in an unmanned research rocket that is to be launched into space immediately. Left to their own devices, Billie and Dino embark on an incredible adventure.
