Paula

Paula is an outgoing 14-year-old who spends a lot of time with her girl clique. They talk about everything: boys, girls, stress with their parents, how to get to the next party. But Paula opts out when it comes to one topic: swapping clothes. Her big sister’s clothes have to be used for this. Paula hates her body and wants nothing more than to be as slim as her sister or the women in the social networks. To express her feelings, Paula creates an anonymous blog and becomes part of a large virtual community sharing her problems. The initial approval she receives encourages her to upload unsolicited photos and videos, some of which expose her friends and family. The sense of belonging is blinding Paula, and she gets lost in a black hole of bad advice, unattainable beauty ideals and eventually hate comments. In her search for self-acceptance, she enters a path where bulimia and anorexia lurk as companions.
