Original title: Rickshaw Girl
German title: Naima, Rikschamädchen
Naima longs to help her family. She is a talented artist and paints imaginative motifs on everything she can get her hands on. But she can hardly earn any money with it. When her father, a rickshaw puller, becomes seriously ill, the family faces financial ruin. Naima realises that there are no income opportunities in her small town and decides to leave her family to find work in the capital of Dhaka. She is hired as a maid by a wealthy couple, but she is so intimidated by their cool manner and fancy flat that she flees. Her own rickshaw is her big dream. However, it seems unrealisable, as only men are allowed to become rickshaw pullers. The daring and determined girl sees only one way out: she must become a boy. Naima assumes the identity of Naim and becomes a successful rickshaw puller. Especially thanks to her self-painted vehicle, Naima can send her parents a lot of money. The other rickshaw pullers envy her this success, and her secret is in danger of being revealed.
