Original title: Otrjad Taganok
German title: Taganok-Team
The villagers of Berkutnoye lead an idyllic life. The boys Vazir, Aydar and Gabduk are best friends and lend a hand wherever necessary. After attending a performance at the temporary open-air cinema, they sit at a campfire with uncle Sharifullah. He tells them the legend of Mount Kiramet above the village, which will soon destroy it. The mountain is in danger of bursting because the lake on its summit has dried up due to a lack of fish. Only a new colonisation of aquatic animals can prevent the catastrophe. The three children decide to act immediately and set up a rescue team. They symbolically call it “Taganok”, like the tripod that supports the cooking pot over the fire. However, their mission proves to be more difficult than expected. Climbing the high mountain is exhausting, but the interpersonal tests, which include mutual trust, willpower and overcoming quarrels, turn out to be even more difficult. Soon they realise that it is only together that they can accomplish their self-imposed mission, for each of them has his own strengths.
