SCHLINGEL around the world
At 20 degrees below zero, SCHLINGEL-chief Michael Harbauer and Programme Advisor Dr. Volker Petzold travelled to Khanty-Mansiysk, where they presented German movies at the Russian Film Festival „Duch ognja“ (Spirit of fire). For the first time in the festivals history the team was instigating a “Club for Children’s and Youth Films – Your Cinema” for which SCHLINGEL was taken as a basis.
In March 2012 Festival Director Michael Harbauer stayed in Kairo as a jury member at the Cairo International Film Festival for Children. Together with 9 other professionals from all over the world he watched 31 productions. In the meantime Festival Assistant Marion Schöffler was visiting Novosibirsk, where she presented five SCHLINGEL films. Marion Schöffler was invited by the Goethe Institut that organised the „Days of the German cinema for young people“.
Some days ago festival director Michael Harbauer was visiting Guslitsa, situated in the eastern part of Moscow Oblast, where he was presenting SCHLINGEL films from previous editions. One of those movies was the German production MONIKA, directed by Christian Werner, who was also in Russia. The event was organised in cooperation with the Goethe Institut Moscow.
