Practical experiences around film topics

SCHLINGEL-TV
Creative Avenue

On our Creative Avenue big and small SCHLINGEL visitors have the opportunity not only to bridge the time gap between movies, but also to try out a lot of games, crafting activities or puzzles on different stations in a creative way.

Special Film Effects – a workshop with the SLM

You think everything is possible in films? In sepcial kinds of course - for example such as animated cartoons and claymation, but also in a live-action film? In this workshop children can get to know what special effects are used in films. Together with participants the SLM produces film tricks and scenes in which the protagonists do magically crazy things.

Smart Questions – Exciting Interviews

If you don’t ask, you’ll never know! With a proper question und professionell technology that won’t happen to you at this workshop. By now, the children become reporters and may ask holes in the festival guests’ bellies. For support and help, experts of the SAEK Chemnitz are on the childrens’ side.

See the world from a new perspective

Curious, how a mouse sees the world? Or a giant? With the help of an actioncam, the children can pitch into a new perspective and go on an expedition. Later on, they can edit their recordings and complete them with a matching soundtrack. The experts of the SAEK Chemnitz show how it is done!

SCHLINGEL-TV

Students report daily, live from the festival. Provided with film equipment, the festival-reporters catch a glimpse from behind the scenes, document festival highlights and interview SCHLINGEL-guests. They will be supported by the SAEK Chemnitz.

Shoot your Short – with the Filmwerkstatt Chemnitz

Here you become the director: Together with the “Filmwerkstatt Chemnitz” you can design and shoot your own scene in this workshop. Based on the films that have been seen, scenes can be reinterpreted, modified or rethought. So the participants learn the most important creative elements in the process of creating a film. The result of the workshop children can see locally, and thus learn the experience of the filmmaking directly and find out whether it is interesting for themselves or not.

The media obstacle course by the initiative Teachtoday

The media obstacle course is aimed at children aged 9 to 12 and encourages fun and movement so they reflect on their own media use. With action-packed exercises and tasks at five different stations, we tackle different areas of media use and topics such as play times, privacy and cyber-bullying. The game stations work like “jump and run” games. The technique motivates and sparks interest among this age group in particular with its combination of movement and content. Altogether it promotes learning processes. Teachtoday is an initiative for the promotion of safe and competent media use from Deutsche Telekom.
